About these terms
By placing an order on irontyres.co.uk, you accept these terms. They cover the contract between you and us, what you can expect when you buy, and where the line falls between our responsibility and yours.
Who we are
Iron Tyres is a trading name of Iron Stable Ltd (Company No. 17061294), registered at Suite A, 82 James Carter Road, Mildenhall, IP28 7DE. Orders are fulfilled by SK Motorcycles Ltd trading as Iron City Motorcycles — an authorised dealer in Leeds.
Orders and contract
When you place an order, you're making us an offer to buy. We accept that offer when we email confirmation. Until then, we can decline an order — usually because of a stock or pricing error, but we don't have to give a reason.
If we discover a clear pricing mistake after you order, we'll contact you with the correct price before we ship. You're free to cancel.
Pricing and payment
All prices are in pounds sterling and include UK VAT at the prevailing rate. Payment is taken in full at checkout via Stripe. We accept the major card networks plus Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Delivery, title, and risk
Shipping rates and timings are on the shipping page. Title in the goods passes to you on delivery. Risk passes to you when the courier hands the parcel over.
Cancellation and returns
You have the standard 14-day right to cancel under UK consumer regulations. The detail on how to return, what we'll refund, and what we won't is on the returns page.
A tyre that's been mounted on a wheel cannot be returned. Once a tyre is fitted, the bead seats and the casing flexes. We can't sell it again. Check the size, speed rating, and load index before you fit. If anything's wrong, raise it with us first.
Fitment is your call
Our fitment finder is a guide, not a guarantee. It cross-references manufacturer ApplicationLists and our own size-extrapolation, both of which can be wrong or out of date. Final responsibility for picking the right tyre for your bike sits with you.
Your bike's owner manual or a competent mechanic is the authority. Speed rating, load index, and tyre type must meet or exceed what the manufacturer specifies. If in doubt, contact us before you order.
Tyre age and DOT code
Every tyre carries a four-digit DOT code stamped on the sidewall — week and year of manufacture. We dispatch from current stock and most tyres are under 12 months old at the point we ship them. We can't guarantee a specific manufacturing week, but if you have a strict requirement (track use, race scrutineering), tell us before you order and we'll confirm what we can fulfil.
Industry guidance from the BTMA recommends inspecting tyres after five years from manufacture and replacing after ten regardless of tread. The DOT code is how you track this.
Manufacturer warranties
Tyres come with the original manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. We coordinate the warranty claim on your behalf — raise it with us first, we'll work with the importer to assess and replace if appropriate. Wear, damage from kerbing, punctures, and incorrect fitting are not warranty events.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that can't be excluded under UK law. Beyond that, our liability for any claim is capped at the price you paid for the goods that gave rise to it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by English law. Disputes go to the courts of England and Wales. None of this affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
