The longitudinal rib runs the length of the contact patch, so the front tracks straight and resists hunting across cambers, tar bands and longitudinal cracks. Steering stays precise and predictable, which is what you want from the front of a mid-sized classic. Tube-type construction suits traditional spoked rims. Fine sipes clear standing water in the wet. The look is right for the era, but the compound is modern, with noticeably more grip and a longer life than the original-fit rubber it replaces. A 3.25-18 front for riders rebuilding a bike to ride, not just to show.
