K1 is the soft option in Metzeler's Racetec SM range. Quick warm-up, peak grip in cooler air or on low-abrasion tarmac where a harder compound never gets to temperature. The 420mm diameter is supermoto-specific, sized for 17-inch race rims with the slick profile that puts maximum rubber on the road. Front-end feel is the headline — trail brake deep into a hairpin and the contact patch tells you exactly where the limit is. Race use only, NHS, not road legal. Pair with the K0 or K2 rear depending on track temperature and surface.
